At NYU, my research combined behavioral and computational approaches from psychology and economics with neural measurements using fMRI, in an effort to understand how people make decisions. My current work has focused on how the value people place on immediate and delayed rewards is represented in a common neural currency. One goal of my research is to build models of decision making that can explain both people’s choices and the neural mechanisms of choice at an algorithmic level. Another goal is to understand the different sources of individual differences in people’s decision making.
