What's New at the CNE
  • February 2010 The book Neuroeconomics: Decision Making and the Brain, published by Elsevier Academic Press in association with the Society for Neuroeconomics, has been awarded the 2009 PROSE award (Professional and Scholarly Publishing Division of the Association on American Publishers) in two categories - overall Excellence in Social Sciences and the specific Economics subject category. With nearly 450 books nominated, we are very proud of the book's editors, our Center for Neuroeconomics director Paul Glimcher, Colin Camerer (Caltech), Ernst Fehr (University of Zurich), and Russell Poldrack (UCLA).
  • Dec 1, 2009 Professor of Psychology Liz Phelps has been awarded the prestigious Margaret and Herman Sokol Faculty Award in the Sciences.
  • Oct 2009 The Quarterly Journal of Economics has accepted a paper by Andrew Caplin, Mark Dean, Paul Glimcher and Robb Rutledge, entitled "Measuring Beliefs and Rewards: A Neuroeconomic Approach". This is the first brain scanning paper to be accepted in a top tier Economics journal. The issue is forthcoming.

The Center for Neuroeconomics at New York University is one of the preeminent institutions for the study of decision making and the brain. The Center brings together faculty and students from NYU’s world-class departments of Neural Science, Economics and Psychology in classes, seminars and research groups. Working with techniques ranging from single neuron electrophysiology to traditional experimental economics to functional brain imaging, more than a dozen research groups at NYU seek to understand the neurobiological basis of choice.
